An online diary of someone who tends to forget easily.

How to make it last?

Years ago I'm wondering how do two people stay in love for such a along period of time.. Now that I'm with someone for over a year, I still ask that question to myself.

I have friends whose been in a relationship for a long time. Some got married, some are planning to settle down, some are enjoying their time together as couple, and some are breaking up.

I always wonder how do they stay together sor so long and then they get married which makes it even longer. When you're married that means you're gonna stay with your partner for the rest of your life..and most of the times it will be just between the two of you. You can't rely on other people especially your family anymore. It's your own life now.

I wonder why they break up after being in love for 5-9 years. Why do they decide to go on separate ways when they can find ways to be together again. I mean, they've been together that long how come just because problems or challenges starts to come, why do they give up? Why can't they do something to save it and start over again.

I also wonder how to they treat each other when they've been loving each other for years. Is the spark still there. Are they still the same just like when they just got together, when the girl said yes. Do they still show how much they care for their partner. Are they still loving and sweet even if they always see each other?

I wonder what does men thinks of other women who are better than their partner? Are they wishing that their girl is like the one they're staring at or someone they knew. Why do some men break up with their girl just to be with someone new? Did boredom gets into their relationship? Or he wants something new? Someone new? Why do men realized a woman's worth when it's too late? Why do men let go easily when their girl wants to end the relationship? (Same thoughts goes for some women who easily give up and who left their partner for someone new)

How do other couple manage to be stronger and stay together despite that most difficult problems they are having? How do they manage to love their partner after cheating? How do they make the relationship last for so long?

These are just some of my thoughts in mind years ago and sometimes they still come especially when I'm seeing old couples holding hands, grandfather helping his wife (grandmother) walk down the stairs or escalator. I'm just so amazed and jealous everytime I see couples like them. At their age I can still see and feel how much they care and love each other.

I wonder if I'll end up like them. I want to. I'll try to. I'd love to. Haha! I hope we can do that too, right Gyun Wo? No matter how hard it is.. I hope someday our kids will ask me the same questions I'm asking myself.. 'How do you make it last?' Then I'll probably answer it in a simple way that they will understand.. 'Because we love each other so much that we can't let simple things to keep us apart'.

LOVE. Real Love. Unconditional Love. Maybe that's what makes it last. Maybe that's why after being together for such a long time, it's as if they're just a newly married couple even if they've been together for a decade or centuries. No matter how imperfect your partner is, you still love him/her, you still want to be with him/her, you can't imagine your life without that person in it, you stay because you love her so much that you can't imagine yourself loving anyone but her. Right? :D

With my sis Cesang...

@Marina Bay
A good friend of mine visited SG last week and she stayed from January 5-8. Gyun Wo and I waited for her in Changi Airport Terminal 2. Actually we took a bus and we were able to arrive on time in the airport but we got into a different terminal haha! We are in terminal 3 when we should be waiting in terminal 2. We checked on how to get there and found out we only need to ride the skytrain. So we waited and took the skytrain. When we arrived in Terminal 2 I kept on trying to call or sms my friend because we're worried that she is already somewhere in the airport. Then we kept on waiting for her until Gyun Wo saw her.
From the airport we went to the hotel where she booked a room. Then she asked us to accompany her that night. She paid extra fee for the two of us (Gyun Wo and I) to stay overnight in her room. After she's done with the check-in we went to Marina Bay to take pictures with baby Merlion. After taking pictures and chatting about different stuffs, we went to Makansutra for dinner. We ordered fried rice, seafood (forgot the name) and fried breaded prawns. When we're done eating we went to Gardens by the bay. Too bad it was late that time that it was so dark. We couldn't really view the beauty of the place.. but despite that we managed to take a lot of pictures. After spending some time walking in GBTB, we went home (her hotel room) and sleep.

The next day we went to Universal Studios and met her friend Pat. He's gay and he's so fun to be with..he's new found friend, thanks to Cesang. So, yeah, we spent the whole day in that amusement park.
We tried some of the rides in the park including the galactica color blue rollercoaster which is known to be the most extreme ride and it's the first ride we tried! How was the ride? Crazy! I thought I'm gonna fall, I can't scream when we're upside down. I don't know how to explain how it feels like to ride it. When it's over I'm a bit dizzy I thought I couldn't walk straight haha! After that we tried 'the mummy', 'shrek 3d/4d', 'madagascar', 'light rollercoaster', transformers, etc. I forgot their exact name so I came up with what I just wrote haha! There are a lot of rollercoaster rides!

It was a great experience! It's my first time to try the rollercoaster ride and I survived! Gyun Wo and Pat tried the other rollercoaster ride in Galactica named Human which is likely similar to the blue one and they also tried the Lost World the ride where they become so wet because of water splashing etc. Haha! Cesang and I were so tired so we did not try those two rides.
Dinner after our Universal Studios adventure!
We also watched a show of some of the members of street boys. We also went and had fun in Monster Live Rock show a musical show. Hmm.. what else.. I can't remember everything but I remember how scared, tired, and happy I was that day!

It was a very fun day! One word to describe the experience? Crazy! Haha! I had so much fun even if it doesn't show because I felt so exhausted that I couldn't really smile and laugh all the time Haha! Grumpy eh? maybe? I was so tired but it was so much fun! XD

My Birthday!

This post is about my birthday weeks ago. Haha! Yes, because I just turned 25 last December 31, 2012.

Let's start by recalling what happened the night before my day. December 30 (Sunday), Gyun Wo suggested that we wait until the clock strikes 12.. which means we will welcome my birthday! I agreed though I feel a bit sleepy that time. We talked about different things while we're waiting for midnight. He's yawning a lot which makes me think that he's really really sleepy that night and he's trying hard not to sleep because he was the one who suggested that we will wait until 12 then we'll sleep. I asked him if he still wants to continue waiting haha! I can feel that he really wants to sleep because we have work the next day and we need to get up early but he waited with me even if he looks so sleepy!!!

Then when it's already 12 midnight, he greeted me and gave me 3 birthday greeting cards with messages he wrote on each. He knows I like reading love letters especially when it's written by him though sometimes I find it hard to read and understand some of the words because of his Japanese like penmanship haha! I started reading and looking at each card he gave me. They're all so cute. I love the messages he wrote for me.

Days before my birthday while I'm looking at his phone because I sometimes borrow it to use it for chikka messaging, viber, playing music, or looking at the notes or messages. Then I saw a note entitled 'Happy Birthday' so I was curious and opened it. I read one line and decided to close it. Haha! When I told him that he thought I read the whole note haha! I told him I only read the first line telling me that he doesn't have any surprise for me.

The next morning since he went to work half day because it's New Year's eve, he arrived home earlier than me. I stayed in the office til 2:30 in the afternoon and by that time he's already home. My boss told me I can leave at 2:30 since there is no urgent task to do so I left the office at 2:30. I took the yellow or circle line (mrt) because I'm lazy to walk to transfer to another station. Then because of some changes in the train schedule and destination, I wasn't able to go home early. I have to get off the train in Serangoon station but the train terminates in different station so I have to get off and wait for another train. Took another one (circle line) and it terminates to different station again so I decided to get off near S'goon and take a cab! So I did.. I waited and I was bored waiting for a cab while it's raining heavily. I went inside the mrt station again to top up my mrt card and checked if there is a train going to S'goon. When I saw that there's still none, I went out the station again and walked to a bus stop. I checked if there is a bus going to our place and luckily there is. Then after few seconds of waiting the bus arrived and I was able to go home at 4:30! >.<

Gyun Wo cooked carbonara pasta for me and we ate it because we're both so hungry haha! He told me how he cooked it and I told him how long it took me to get home after leaving the office at 2:30. XD

Gifts? Greetings from other people? Hmm.. Gyun Wo told me that we will look and buy new glasses for me. I've been using my eyeglass for over a year already so it is time to get a new one. There are a lot of greetings from my friends posted on my Facebook account. My family when I talked to them they bought a bithday cake for me and I was so touched and happy that I wanted to cry but I did not cry haha!

Then we went to a place here in SG to watch the fireworks display as we wait and welcome the year 2013. There are a looooot of people who waited and enjoyed the different fireworks on the dark sky. The fireworks display lasted for 7 minutes, after that we went home and sleep while he wrote something for his family and loved ones.

The next day we just spent our new year's day at home. We watched movies, ate fruits and junk foods, drank vodka and sleep. Haha! That's it.

It was a very happy birthday! OMG I can't believe I'm already 25! Haha!

Thailand Trip 2012

This is a continuation of my previous post. This time I'll write about our Thailand trip.

I think we started the day by checking out in Paramount Hotel and going to Gyun Wo's uncle's house. We waited for everyone to be ready and when they're done, we started our journey to Hat Yai Thailand via car.

Hehe! We stopped to have brunch and exchanged our Sing dollars to Thai Baht. Ah before that his uncle already treated us to Subway and ate a very delicious tuna and egg sandwich with veggies.

It took 2-4 hours to reach Hat Yai. I forgot what time we arrived but as soon as we get there, the cars were parked in the Duty Free parking lot and then we took a van rented that will take us to our hotel and then when we arrived at Diamond Plaza Hotel we rest for awhile and then started shopping, eating, taking pictures, etc! Haha! We did the same thing the next day. We spent the Christmas Day in Thailand.

We enjoyed our stay in Thailand because of the cheap stuffs that we bought and some we ate! I love the roasted/fried chicken paired with sticky rice and deep fried crispy onions (simply the best Thai food I've tasted so far!), laksa, curry, chicken, chinese sausage, sugar cane juice, sweet milk tea, etc. I bought souvenir stuffs such as 'I love Hat Yai' shirts, 2 leggings, 1 pants, keychains, sotong (dried squid), bag, hmm what else.. I guess that's it. As for Gyun Wo he also bought I love Hat Yai shirt, shortpants, dried mango and his fave pistacchio nuts, keychains, hmm what else.. that's all I remember.

It's great to have such nice and fun company with you when traveling. Gyun Wo's uncle, aunt, cousins are fun to be with. They also help us bargain by talking to the people in Hokkien. The hotel accommodation and food are all

free. We only spent money for our round-trip ticket (bus), and the stuffs we bought from shopping. Isn't that great?! Haha!

Actually they're planning to go to the Night Market, Floating Market, and Elephant show or something but too bad that those are only available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

We went back and arrived in Penang December 26 at 8 or 9 in the evening. The next day we packed our bags and went back to SG.

Malaysia Trip 2012

Hello! This one is supposed to be posted hours ago before January 1, 2013 but because I didn't have much time to blog earlier, I decided to post it now.

In this post I will share our out of the country trips. For this entry I'm gonna write about our trip in Malaysia.

Gyun Wo's uncle who lives in Penang Malaysia once told Gyun Wo that we can visit him when we're not busy at work. Actually we planned to go there last August for my exit to get a new stamp again for my pass.. but instead we went to Batam Indonesia hehe! So we filed for a couple of days of vacation leave and luckily the application is approved by our boss.

December 22 - 9:30PM, Golden Mile Tower Beach Road Singapore, this is the place where we took Konsortium Bas Ekspres bus which will take us to our destination! It will take 10-12 hours before we will arrive to Penang but we're ready for that. We bought neck pillows and snacks with us. Haha! After few minutes or hours (I forgot how long it took us to get to our next stop) we went out the bus for passport checking in SG immigration. Then we went back to our bus.

Few minutes/hours later we arrived in Malaysia and went out to for passport and baggage scanning/checking. After that we transferred to another bus which is a snoozer bus. It has mini tv where we can watch movies or listen to the songs available on the device. Unfortunately mine is not working so I wasn't able to watch much. We just slept on the bus and waited til we reach Penang. There are also several stops for toilet breaks hehe.

We reached Penang Malaysia at past 7 o'clock in the morning. We are expecting to arrive at 9:30 but we're already there before 8:00AM. Then Gyun Wo sent SMS to his uncle to inform him that we have arrived. His uncle replied that it will take him 20 minutes to get there. So, we waited.

When his uncle arrived he was with his son. Gyun Wo introduced me to them and then we went to a hawker place for breakfast. They ordered different kinds of dim sum, and Penang's sweet milk tea. I like the dim sum and the milk tea. His uncle and cousin are both nice which made it easy for me to talk to them though I don't really know what to tell them (you know.. me being a not so friendly and talkative to new friends that I just met hehe).

After having breakfast we went to their house and we met Gyun Wo's auntie and cousins and their cute pets! 3 dogs and 1 cat, I forgot their breed -_- Well as expected Gyun Wo had fun playing with their pets and I was a bit afraid when the dogs starts to bark or sniff my feet. Haha!

Few minutes later we went to our next destination... a temple which name I forgot -_-! We spent our time walking, looking, and taking pictures of the scenery inside and outside the temple. Then after hours of walking around and taking pictures in the temple we went to another hawker for lunch. They ordered Chinese food and we all talked about different stuffs. After lunch we went to Paramount Hotel to check in and leave our baggage in our room. We also took a rest for awhile.

Oh the road to Butterfly Farm is not so good! Haha! It's a zigzag road and it took an hour or over an hour to reach the place by car. Gyun Wo's uncle is very good in driving but sometimes I feel dizzy because of the zigzag road. -_- When we arrived in the farm we took pictures again with the butterflies, insects, fish, etc.

After staying for an hour in butterfly farm we went out and headed to a seafood restaurant that is located near the beach. While waiting for the food they ordered Gyun Wo and I took pictures in a swing and near the beach hehe! We are both dizzy and starving that time! Hahaha!

The food they ordered are all good. I'm so full when we're done eating. Haha! After our dinner we went back to our hotel and slept! End of Day 1 in Penang.

The next post will be about our trip in Thailand. =)

Hello 2013!

Happy New Yeaaaaaaaaaar! Hello 2013! Whew!

Time flies so fast.. I couldn't believe that today is the first day of a new year! Gyun Wo and I arrived in Marina Bay Sands 3 minutes before 12 midnight of January 1. Haha! We watched wonderful fireworks display that lasted for 7 minutes.

There were a lot of people who came to watch the fireworks display. There are some who I guess are drunk because they're so noisy inside the MRT. The trains are crowded. Some are annoyingly noisy but some are fun to watch. Oh, we kissed when the clock strikes 12 midnight haha! There's this superstitious belief that when you kissed and hug your special someone and even your family or friends at midnight of new year it will  make your relationship better. Well I know that it's not only depend on whether you kissed or not,but I like it that we did it. It's like our first kiss in public but it's dark and everyone's busy watching fireworks so it's okay. Hehe!

There's also this one guy who let us try his 3D like eyeglass while watching fireworks. I didn't really appreciate it because my eyesight is poor but using it will make you really enjoy the fireworks display. He's so nice he let us try it hehe!

Anyway, I hope this year will be a very great year just like 2012. I hope it will be a better year for all of us. My only prayer is for my loved ones to be always safe, healthy, alive, and happy. Same goes for me and Gyun Wo whose been away for quite some time for our personal goals and for the betterment of the life of our family.

Happy New Year everyone! For everything that happens to us, the things that are happening and thoise that are about to happen, good or bad, let us always consider what good it can give to us. Let us all thank God for everything. I feel so blessed every year, every month, every day, every hour because I know He's up there, watching us, guiding us, protecting us, forgiving us, and loving us no matter how imperfect we can be. Thank you so much good Lord. We love you so much. We owe you a lot. Thank you so much for everything. May you continue to make us feel how much we are loved by you in your own simple but meaningful ways. Have a blessed new year!
